  5. You can’t subscribe to data with borrowed airtime.

First, dial *500*amount#. Using this service, you can borrow as much as N500 worth of airtime at once. All the networks charge a service charge, the charge is usually between 10 to 15% depending on the network.

For example, MTN has a service charge of 15% which means they will credit you with #185 if you request #200 credit.

Airtel subscribers will borrow airtime even when they haven’t paid back the old debt, thanks to the telecom’s revamped Beerako product.

It allows customers to borrow airtime to call, text, or even buy data for their personal use and payback whenever they recharge their accounts.

With the recent improvement of the service, subscribers can now borrow a maximum of two loans within their qualified limit, with each loan having its own expiry period.

One of the unique features offered by the new ‘Beerako’ is the fact that only one loan can be recovered at a time – the oldest one first.
When an account is recharged and as soon as the first loan has been repaid, you are free to get a second loan within your loanable limit.”

‘Beerako’ attracts a service fee of only 11 per cent per loan. Customers can simply dial *155# to join.
