How to claim your website on Pinterest

Pinterest

Claim your website on Pinterest to get access to website analytics and let people know where they can find more of your content. Your profile picture will show up next to any Pins that come from your site, and a small globe icon will appear next to your website URL on your profile.

To claim your website, you’ll need to add a meta tag or upload an HTML file to your website’s HTML code. You can claim one website on your profile and a website can only be claimed by one Pinterest account.

Add a meta tag to your website

  1. Log in to Pinterest from a web browser and click   to open your menu
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Claim
  4. In the “Claim website” section, enter your website URL and click Claim
  5. Select “Add HTML tag”
  6. Copy the tag and click Next
  7. Go to the index.html file of your website and add the tag to the <head> section before the <body> section
  8. Go back to Pinterest and click Submit
  9. Click Done

Upload an HTML file to your website

  1. Log in to Pinterest from a web browser and click   to open your menu
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Claim
  4. In the “Claim website” section, enter your website URL and click Claim
  5. Select “Upload HTML file”
  6. Click Download then click Next
  7. Upload the HTML file to your web server at the root folder – if you upload to a subfolder we won’t be able to access it
  8. Go back to Pinterest and click Submit
  9. Click Done

After you click Submit, Pinterest will automatically check for the meta tag and claim your website. Once your site has been claimed, you can remove the HTML tag or file. Only making changes to your website in your Pinterest settings will remove the claim.
