How To Watch UFC 278: Usman vs. Edwards 2(Time, Preview & TV Channnel)

UFC 278: Usman vs. Edwards 2 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on August 20, 2022, at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States

UFC 278 is headlined by two of the most talented technicians in all of mixed martial arts. It’s a rematch that’s been seven years in the making, as “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman will defend his UFC Welterweight Championship against Leon “Rocky” Edwards at UFC 278. In their first meeting Usman won by unanimous decision, which was also his UFC debut back in December 2015.

That alone is going to make this a must-buy PPV for a lot of UFC fans out there. But there’s plenty of other great fights on the card. Including four others on the main card PPV. So it’s bound to be a pretty impressive PPV this weekend and you won’t want to miss out.

The event will mark the promotion’s second visit to Salt Lake City, following UFC Fight Night: Rodríguez vs. Caceres in August 2016.

A UFC Welterweight Championship bout between current champion (also The Ultimate Fighter: American Top Team vs. Blackzilians welterweight winner) Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards is expected to headline the event.[3] The pairing previously met at UFC on Fox: dos Anjos vs. Cowboy 2 in December 2015 where Usman defeated Edwards by unanimous decision.

A middleweight bout between former Strikeforce and UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and former title challenger Paulo Costa was expected to take place at UFC 277. However, the bout was postponed to this event due to unknown reasons.

A flyweight bout between Victor Altamirano and Jake Hadley was scheduled for this event. However, after Hadley pulled out of the bout due to injury he was replaced by Daniel Lacerda.

A women’s flyweight between Miranda Maverick and Shanna Young was scheduled for the event. However, the bout was cancelled on the day of the weigh-ins due to Young being hospitalized for weight cutting issues

UFC 278 Main Event Preview

Coming into UFC 278, Usman has a 19-fight winning streak, and is looking to defend his UFC Welterweight Championship for the sixth time. He has already defeated Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, Rafael Dos Anjos and Convington for a second time. And now, he is squaring off against his first ever opponent in the UFC – which he also beat, seven years ago.

Usman got his first career victory in the UFC, at “UFC on Fox 17” , via an unanimous decision. That was the last time Edwards lost a match, however. Since then, Edwards has gone on a 10-fight unbeaten streak, with wins over Dominic Waters, Albert Tumenov, Vicente Luque, Bryan Barberena, Peter Sobotta, Donald Cerrone, Gunnar Nelson, Rafael dos Anjos, and Nate Diaz. So Edwards is out to revenge his loss from seven years ago.

That’s not all that’s on the main event card however. The co-main event also has former Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo facing sixth-ranked Merab Dvalishvili. Currently, Aldo is on a three-fight winning streak and Merab has also won six straight. While it’s not the big main event everyone’s talking about, it’s still bound to be one hell of a fight.
