The Ford-owned Lincoln Motors just announced that it’s gearing up for an electrified future. By 2026, the company is planning to release four new EVs with the brand’s logo and to celebrate 100 year in the automotive industry, the company introduced a fully-electric SUV concept called Star.
The concept car is a crossover SUV with plenty of space inside for the passengers and has all the bells and whistles one would expect from a modern, luxury EV. There are big instrument and infotainment screens on the dashboard, the steering wheel can retract, there are plenty of LEDs inside to set the mood and the front seats can swivel to make a lounge-like setting. There’s a huge panoramic glass roof as well.

Speaking of mood, the Lincoln Star has three mood modes that change the lighting and the smell inside the car. They are called Coastal Morning, Mindful Vitality and Evening Chill.
On the outside, the vehicle is nothing like the stuff we’ve seen from Lincoln thus far. There are hardly any sharp angles, except for the headlights and taillights, which span the width of the car. Since the battery and the motor are tucked away under the cabin, there’s plenty of room for luggage under the overengineered hood and the spacious trunk.

Of course, Lincoln didn’t provide a specific time frame of the Star’s commercialization and since this looks like an ambitious concept, it might never happen. It serves the company as a design to strive for and gauge the consumer’s interests so that some design elements may end up in a production vehicle.
