Xiaomi announced the Redmi 9 series, which includes the Redmi 9Redmi 9ARedmi 9C, and Redmi 9i months ago. Early September, the company launched the entry-level Redmi 9A smartphone. The phone arrived in India with a price tag of Rs. 6,799 (~$93).

And Now, Xiaomi lanuches the Redmi 9i smartphone in China today. Similar to the Redmi 9A, the Redmi 9i packs the same specs.

The significant difference between the two devices is the larger RAM and internal storage space on the Redmi 9i.

The Redmi 9i features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel that has a teardrop notch design. The screen offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and delivers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

Since the Redmi 9i is designed as an entry-level gaming smartphone, it sports the Helio G25 chipset.

Out of the box, the handset would arrive with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The company produced the smartphone in two storage variants; 64GB storage model and 128GB storage model.

Like the Redmi 9A, the Redmi 9i also comes loaded with MIUI 12 based on Android 10 OS.

As for the optics, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a single 13-megapixel rear snapper. It houses a 5,000mAh battery, and it has support for 10W charging.

On the connectivity aspect, the device supports dual SIM slot, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB port.

Other features include a P2i splash resistant nano-coating and a microSD card slot for additional storage.

The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Redmi 9i costs Rs. 8,299 (~$113) and the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model retails for (~$126).

Interested customers can pick up the device in various colour option such as nature green, sea blue, and midnight black.

The phone will go on its first sale through online stores like Mi Store, Mi.com, and Flipkart on September 18.
