Design

Instead of going their customary circular shape, iRobot has introduced a D-shape design for the Roomba S9 Plus similar to Neato’s D-shaped BotVac product. The design is introduced to help improve cleaning in corners or edges.

Featuring a curvy matte black plastics with a bronze brushed-metal highlight, the vacuum is designed to impress and effect.

It’s also smaller, measuring 12.3 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches tall, compared with the previous model’s 13.4-by-3.7-inch dimensions.

At the top this vacuum sports a recessed brushed bronze disc sits in the center, concealing the removable onboard dustbin and filter. When this lid flips up it expose the internal 550 ml dust bin.

The top also is host the RCON sensor (room confinement), clutter sensor,  the iAdapt localization camera, and buttons for Clean/Power, Spot Clean, and Home.

Furthermore, when the Roomba S9+ 9550 is cleaning, it illuminate white light around the edge of the disc and changes to blue when  heading toward its base to charge and solid red when something goes wrong.

On the bottom however, this Vacuum it has two multi-surface brushes to scoop up dust, hair, and dirt.

Powerful Suction

iRobot Roomba S9 Plus comes with a powerful suction motor which is 40X  better than most vacuum cleaner with ability to sucked up dust, hair, and debris on hard floors, carpets, and rugs

It also changes its suction strength automatically depending on whether it’s cleaning carpet (heavier suction) or wood and tile (lighter suction).

The S9 Plus also debuts a new 3D sensor in the front bumper that enhances Roomba’s wall detection. Scanning at 25 times per second, it allows the robot to hug walls closely, improving edge cleaning.

Self-emptying Charging Dock

Just like the iRobot Roomba i7 Plus, this Vacuum is compatible with a clean base automatic dirt disposal, so the robot can empty its own bin. This is quite a great upgrade compare to the regular Roomba S9.

The clean base also double as the robot’s charging station and has an enclosed disposable bag that holds 30 bins of dirt, dust and hair, which can be replace when filled up.

Thanks to the app, you get notification when it’s time to swap it out for a new one. The vacuum comes with two bags, and you can buy more as time goes on.

Cleaning Feature

Thanks to the uniquely designed dual multi- surface rubber brushes that stay in constant contact with carpets and hard floors, you can get everything from small particles like dust and dirt, to hair and large debris off your floor.

iRobot Roomba S9 Plus also comes with the PerfectEdge Technology and a specially designed Corner Brush which optimizes cleaning deep into corners and along edges. It also features enhanced sensors which constantly scan ahead at a rate of 25 times per second to detect obstacles in the cleaning path.
