Windows 10 includes many new features, and one of them is Power Saver Mode .When active, this feature conserves battery power by limiting background activity and adjusting hardware settings. It then displays information regarding the amount of battery life and the estimated time left to the user.

Power saving mode in Windows 10

When you enable Battery Saver in Windows 10, the following happens:

  1. You will not automatically receive emails or calendar updates
  2. Live Tiles may not be updated
  3. Apps will not run in the background.

You can enable or disable Battery Saver by toggling the Battery Saver is button to On or Off. You will find that the feature is disabled by default. If enabled, it becomes visible when the battery level drops below 20%. However, you can change this setting and set the function to a higher limit, say 30%.

Press Win + I to launch the Settings app and then go to System> Battery Saver. Here, depending on your requirements, you can manually enable or disable Battery Saver. If you’d like to customize its settings, tap Battery Saver Settings to manage its automatic activation.

This Battery Saver settings panel will allow you to:

  1. Turn on battery saver automatically if battery power drops
  2. Allow push notifications from any app in battery saver mode
  3. Lower the screen resolution in battery saving mode.

If you just want to disable this feature, if you don’t find it useless, just follow the instructions above, but at the end just uncheck ” Automatically turn on battery saver when battery power drops below”. 

You can also set when the battery saver should turn on automatically by moving the slider. To raise the limit, simply slide the bar to the desired value. The default is 20%, but you can move it 30% if you like.

After activation, the icon will look like this:

This panel also lets you add apps that can run in the background even if your Windows 10 PC is in battery saver mode. Clicking on the “Add” button will open a list of installed applications. Choose the one you want.
